About the event

Join us at The UXLocale for an intimate Art History High Tea with James Welu and Terri Michaelson of Herbs Make Scents, limited to just 28 guests.

As America celebrates 250 years, it feels like the perfect time to look beyond the familiar story of Paul Revere and explore the artistry, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial spirit that helped shape early American life.

Best known for his legendary role in the American Revolution, Paul Revere was also one of early America’s most accomplished silversmiths, engravers and entrepreneurs. In this special art history lecture, James Welu, former Director of the Worcester Art Museum, explores Revere’s remarkable career as a master silversmith and the history behind his work.

At the center of the conversation will be the Paine Silver Service, one of Revere’s most important commissions and one of the great treasures of the Worcester Art Museum’s collection.

Terri Michaelson of Herbs Make Scents brings the tea, thoughtfully selected to complement the afternoon, and The UXLocale does the rest: a vintage tea service filled with house-made scones, delicate finger sandwiches, and other sweet and savory delectables.

With only 28 seats available, this is a wonderfully personal way to spend an afternoon learning, eating, and discovering another side of one of America’s most familiar historical figures during this historic 250th anniversary year. Art, history, tea, and conversation, all gathered around the table.
